THE SQUARE MILE CLUB

The Square Mile Club is a speakers' lunches programme organised by the Headmaster. Three times each term guests come to address boys at City of London School. All boys are invited, although senior boys tend to be in the majority. Typically, the guest will speak for half and hour followed by questions from the boys.

As a matter of principle the School also invites students and their teachers from our sister school City of London School for Girls as well as students from other local schools, including:the Convent of Jesus and Mary Language College, Skinners School, London Nautical School, La Retraite and Stepney Green Maths and Computing College. The Square Mile Club attracts high profile speakers in part due to the excellent location of City of London School and in part due to personal connections. The fact that the audience is not solely made of independant schools pupils benefits City of London School, builds bridges between the schools serving the area and attracts a greater diversity of speakers.
