Judo

The CLS JUDO club has been well supported throughout the year, hard training producing some excellent results. Eight students represented the school in the Southern England tournament, winning three gold, one silver and two bronze medals, (see table). Three students competed at Finsbury tournament winning gold, silver and bronze, while nine students represented the Corporation in the London Heathrow games, winning their places as a result of hard training over a six month period. At the games, the team won three bronzes medals - the first time any medals were won by the Corporation.

For the Kent International, two out of seven students represented the school in the tournament. Zhe Xiong Chang (J6) and Steffen Hoyemsvoll (J6) competed against some of best players in Europe. Being only orange belts, with most of the competitors black and brown belts, Steffen lost out on the bronze medal and Zhe Xiong lost out at the quarter finals. Nonetheless, well done to all students who took part in the tournaments – and remember to keep up training all you CLS Club Members!
