Review:
‘Haroun and the Sea of Stories’ was first published as a novel in 1990. It was then adapted for the stage by Tim Supple and David Tushingham and opened at the Royal National Theatre in 1998. In an interview, Salman Rushdie once said –
"I suppose one of the things that I really think, is that human beings are story-telling creatures. Our identity is bound up with the business of telling stories. Stories are part of the glue that holds families, tribes, nations together"
The cast made up of OG, 1st and 2nd year boys who were joined by four girls from CLSG worked extremely hard since Easter, developing and perfecting their story-telling and performance skills. A demanding rehearsal schedule was drawn up in order to achieve the precision which the choreography required. Credit must be given to each and every cast member due to the nature of this ensemble production. For many of the boys involved, this was their first production at CLS and I do hope that they will get involved in future shows and dramatic projects. I would like to pass on my thanks to them for their energy, commitment and enthusiasm which made this production such an enjoyable experience for all involved.
