Geography Trips and Expeditions
The Geography Department runs numerous day and residential trips throughout the year. We hope to involve all year groups in some form of fieldwork as part of the curriculum.
This year’s academic trips include:
- RES and The Paper Trail (Hemel Hempstead) for Old Grammar
- Epping Forest with the First Form
- Box Hill (Surrey) with the Second Form
- Brighton beach and The Natural History Museum with the Third Forms
- The London Docklands, and the South Coast (2-day residential) with the Fourth Form
- North Yorkshire (4-day residential) in the Junior Sixth
- Docklands and Stratford in the Senior Sixth
Alongside the core academic fieldtrip programme, the department has an optional expedition programme. This has included trips to Namibia in 2007, Iceland in 2008, Peru in 2009 and Morocco in 2010.
The next expedition, in October 2011, will be a return visit to Iceland.
