THE CHRISTIAN SOCIETY

The Christian Society meets every Friday lunchtime.  We tend to spend about 20 minutes chatting and eating a light lunch so others can get their school dinners if they wish.  We are joined by Tom Nash, the curate and youth worker at our local church,  St. Helen’s, Bishopsgate, who leads a short study. We usually run series of meetings, the topics of which are decided by a discussion at the beginning of the term.  Recently we had a brainstorming session about what members of the society wanted to look at, which was collated into a five-week run with the working title “Living in the Light of the Future”.  In so doing, the society’s agenda is set by attendees.  We also host legendary Christmas and Easter parties.

The Christian Society remains a great way for boys to investigate faith in a very relaxed atmosphere, and is well attended by boys of no religious persuasion just seeing what is on offer.  As always, everyone is welcome to attend.

This year a junior Christian Society has also begun. It runs at breaktime on Fridays and features lots of sweets, some games and a Bible verse.
