There are many opportunities to get involved and develop your basketball skills at CLS. Basketball is a games option available to all students in the Fourth Form and above and specialist coaching is given. The Forth, Fifth Form and Sixth Form have the opportunity to train and play at SCORE Leisure Centre on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons, where there is team and recreational basketball on offer. Basketball is also a popular sport recreationally with boys regularly playing in their spare time on the number of purpose built basketball nets.Basketball is also an integral part of the Physical Education programme and the fundamentals are taught and reinforced in the Autumn Term for all age groups. This leads onto the form and House competitions where boys have a chance to represent their form or House in competitive basketball. For those boys who wish to play in school teams, there is opportunity to train either before, after or during lunchtime, as well as on their games afternoon from Forth Form and above. The school also has links with university and coaching camps, which aim to extend basketball outside the school environment. There are a wide range of ways to participate in basketball at City.
